Chef Michael Lawrence is a native to Vermont currently residing in Randolph. He enjoys spending time with his daughter and family, hunting, fishing and just living in Vermont. His passion is preparing entrees that leave a guest’s mouth watering for the next course.
He graduated from the New England Culinary Institute in Essex,Vermont. During his studies, he interned at “Hemingways” a four star, four diamond restaurant right here in Killington. He also interned at Levielle Maison in Boca Raton, Florida, a Mobil travel guide five star restaurant. He has traveled the US working in Key West Florida opening a restaurant called Croissants de France, then to Aspen, Colorado as the chef at the Stonebridge Inn on the base of Snowmass Mountain for a winter season to end his journey back in Vermont.
Upon his return, he became the Executive chef at the ‘Castle Inn’ in Ludlow, VT. The Inn and Michael’s culinary skills were featured in local newspapers as well as magazine articles as the “best restaurant in the Okemo’ area. After a couple of years, he extended his experience to be the Conference/Banquet Chef at the Capitol Plaza Hotel, and then the Stoweflake Mountain Resort catering large functions and weddings.
As the Executive Chef of Heli’s Restaurant, he is creating some new and exciting dishes for the lodges guests and Killington Rutland locals. Guest comments table after table say ‘don’t let your chef go’, ’the food melted in my mouth’ or ‘we will be back very soon’.
