Killington Music Festival

Killington Renaissance Festival

Each August, the Killington Chamber of Commerce hosts a weekend-long Renaissance Faire. http://www.killingtonchamber.com/renfest

Art in the Park Festivals

In August and October, Juried fine artists, craftspeople and specialty food producers congregate in Rutland’s Main Street Park for Vermont’s oldest arts and crafts festival. Sponsored by the Chaffee Center for the Visual Arts, which is located across the street. (802) 775-0356

Billings Farm and Museum

Located in historic Woodstock, this is an 1870’s farm museum with ongoing dairy operations, exhibits and demonstrations of rural crafts. May-October. http://www.billingsfarm.com

President Calvin Coolidge Birthplace

Plymouth Notch is just down Route 100A. It’s an authentic 19th century village and an official Vermont Historic Site where our 30th president was born, raised and buried. Open from May to mid-October. http://www.dhca.state.vt.us/HistoricSites/html/coolidge.html

Quechee Gorge

A little ways past Woodstock is Quechee. The gorge known as Vermont’s “Little Grand Canyon” is a mile-long chasm. There are picnic and walking areas. Route 4, Ottauquechee River, Quechee.

Solarfest

A few miles south of us, each July the quaint town of Middletown Springs is host to Solarfest, New England’s most entertaining Renewable Energy Fair. http://www.solarfest.org

Vermont State Fair

In Rutland, from August 29-September 7, 2003. Agricultural exhibitors from around the state will gather to show off their season’s produce, livestock and homemade products. Exhibits, Food, Midway rides, and grandstand entertainment every night. There is something for everyone at this annual event. http://www.vermontstatefair.net

Vermont Marble Exhibit and Market

The world’s largest marble museum. May-October 25. Located in Proctor, a short drive from us. http://www.vermont-marble.com

Wilson Castle

An 1867 architectural masterpiece, in the rolling fields of Proctor. Named for its second owner, and home to five generations of Wilsons, the elegant and unusual building is a mix of European styles. http://www.wilsoncastle.com
